Videoinstallation auf der art cologne 1997
Authentic Post-Hysteria, video-installation, 1996
A life-sized female doll dressed in white stands straddling a mirror. The mirror reflects images coming from a monitor installed in her vagina. One hears in the background cacophonous sounds of self-inflicted pain (sounds of head crashing against different materials).
The mirror opens up an internal view to the voyeur and contrasts the publicness of this act to the privateness and seclusion of auto-aggressive behavior.
The subjective feeling of not being able to prevent a contrary interpretation from being placed on the self-image as generated from the external sources, morphs into an combustible aggression that is directed exclusively against the self.
